The Sonic Forum is hosted by Ji Tanzer (Jujuba, Blue Cranes) and Bryan Appel (Colin Lake & Wellbottom, Seven Year Tango).
Attention bands! We want to hear from you! Bands that sign up in advance (by emailing Ji Tanzer at openmic@thegoodfoot.com ) get 20 minutes to rock out on the Goodfoot stage. Solo or duo artists and bands that sign up at the Sonic Forum get 10 minutes.
Vote for your favorite act so they can win a weekly $50 Goodfoot gift certificate. And unlike other open mics, we have a full sound system and a professional sound guy behind the board. In addition to plenty of mics and DI’s, we also provide a full drum kit, a fine vintage Fender guitar amp, a bass amp, and a classic Hammond organ with Leslie. As always your hosts Ji Tanzer and Bryan Appel are available to provide instrumental accompaniment, and you can get a recording of your performance for the low low price of only $5. Doors open at 8:00 pm and there is a nominal $1 cover. Please note that the Sonic Forum is a 21 & over only event. The Goodfoot is located at 2845 SE Stark.
Bands of 3+ people
Sign up in advance by e-mailing Ji Tanzer the date you'd like to play and the time slot in which you'd like to play (either 8:30-10:30 or 10:30-12:00), as well as what instruments your band has. Bands who sign up in advance are guaranteed a 20-minute slot during their choice of either the late or the early time block, but the exact time they play will be chosen randomly the night of the Sonic Forum.
Please note that ONLY BANDS OF THREE OR MORE PEOPLE may sign up in advance! Advance sign-up begins each week on Tuesday at 7:00 A.M. Bands may only sign up for the following week's Sonic Forum (i.e., you can not sign up more than one week in advance). |
