The Jam is hosted by Errick Lewis and his house band. Errick Lewis has performed with many high profile artists such as Stevie Wonder, Marcus Miller, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott and Patrick Lamb. He recently has relocated to Portland.
The Jam is looking to attract musicians of all genres to add their specific flavor to jazz standards while allowing the music to venture creatively into jazz fusion territory. There are other jazz jams in the city but they focus mainly on straight ahead jazz, swing and be-bop. This Jam allows jazz musicians to create music that steps outside of the normal jazz boundaries. |
